Five Flavors of Dumb by Antony John

Piper is not the most confident person at her school. She is often off to the side not being noticed by anyone and she is ok with that because she is deaf and doesn't want to draw attention to herself. She can't really explain why she told the school's newly popular rock band Dumb that is was foolish for them to make any appearances without getting paid. Before she knows it, she is given the job of band manager and must get them a paying gig in one month. Being a deaf manager of a rock band is not the problem (although it certainly is a problem for some people like her dad). The problem is dealing with the different personalities of the band members and learning the music business. It is a struggle that may cost everyone a lot including the break up of the band.

Piper is one of those characters that you wish was a real person so you could hang out with her. Since she's not, I recommend reading this book.
